Running of the Weiner Dogs starts at 6:30 pm. There are three categories in the 10 yard “dach.” A German Chocolate Cake Contest has judging at 6 pm and winners announced at 7:30. There will be food vendors, horse-drawn carriage rides and children’s activities. The Beer Garden runs from 5 to 10 pm and beer and wine tasting classes will run throughout the night.

Henry County Conservation’s Annual Night Hike runs tonight from 6 to 7:30 pm. The theme is “Funny Bones” and focuses on animals with or without backbones. The hike begins in front of the Oakland Mills Nature Center. There will be six stations of skits with each one lasting about five minutes. The program is free for all ages but kids must be accompanied by an adult. Groups depart every ten minutes and reservations are not necessary. There will be prize drawings every fifteen minutes.
