Henry County Fair Schedule at McMillan Park in Mount Pleasant:

9 am Beef Show in the Livestock Arena

11:30 am Little Prince and Princess Contest in Wright Pavilion

Noon to 4 pm Kids’ activities in and near Wright Pavilion

1 pm Beef Production Show in the Livestock Arena

2 pm Working Exhibits & and Share The fun in Wright Pavilion

2 pm Poultry Show in the rabbit and poultry barn

2 pm sign up for the Bags Tournament. The Tournament begins at 3 pm in Wright Pavilion

7:30 pm Demo Derby followed by fireworks

9 to 11 pm the the Beer Garden is open with music by Jive Radio

Mount Pleasant Farmers Market from 8:30 to 11 am in Wright Pavilion in McMillan Park.

 

The Mount Pleasant City compost site is open for the season Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm and Wednesdays from 1 to 6 pm.  The site is located southwest of Saunders Park at the intersection of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive.

Houghton Hootin Days continues today.  There is a 5K run at 8 am.  There will be inflatable slide pool and a slip and slide from 1 to 7 pm.  There will be a youth and adult paint ball tournament.  The children’s pedal pull is from 3:30 to 5 pm and the prince and princess contest drawing is at 5 pm.  The Houghton Fire Department will serve chicken bbq meals from 4 to 7:30 pm.  The raffle is at 8 pm.  Dueling pianos in the grass play from 6:30 to midnight and fireworks start at 9:45 pm.

The Chief Wapello Car Show is today.  It runs from 8 am to 1 pm at the Louisa County Court House.  Classes are: cars, vans, motorcycles, trucks and tractors.  Registration is from 8 to 11 am. $10 per entry.  Trophies will be presented at noon. Food on the grounds prepared by Lion’s club.

There’s a free lily tour from 7 to 11 am at 1015 250th Street, Lockridge.  This is 5 miles from Oakland Mills.  There will be approximately 400 lilies and daylilies of all colors available to view.

The Swedesburg Heritage Society is proud to share their historic building rehab project at an open house from noon to 3 pm. The contractor will be there to demonstrate aspects of the rehab that preserve the historic character of the Heritage Museum buildings.

You are invited to a performance of “Three 2 See” at the Heatilator Center at 7 pm. The visual arts show will feature three short story drama performances and artwork. Tickets are $10.
