Stop by the Veterans Hall in Mt. Pleasant at 300 West Monroe Street for breakfast!  They will start serving at 8:30am and will serve breakfast on the 3rd Friday of each month!

Des Moines County Conservation Department invites you to “Hike A Park” at 5:30pm at Big Hollow Recreation Area:  (152nd Avenue, Sperry, Iowa.)  This hike is open to all and is free.  Naturalist Jacklyn Goodman & Community Outdoor Recreation Education Specialist Aron Kehoe will guide the hike and answer any questions. Please meet at the Hickory Shelter at Big Hollow, and carpooling is available!  Please call 319-753-5808 if you would like a ride.  Questions can be directed to Starr’s Cave Nature Center.  See you on the trails!
