Van Buren County Fall Festival this weekend features the 7th annual Gun Show!  Buy, Sell, Trade from 4pm – 8pm.  Federal and State Laws apply, Modern and Antique Guns at the former elementary School, 602 8th Street in Bonaparte!  $5 admission, under 10 years are free!

This Friday you can learn about the candidates running for Iowa Senate District 44. We have invited Republican Adrian Dickey and no party candidate Lisa Ossian. The  Presbyterian Women are holding their annual Fall Rummage & Bake Sale from noon – 6:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 902 S. Walnut Street – please enter through the south doors.  All items are 50 cents unless marked!  On Saturday, the Rummage Sale hours are 8am – 1pm with $2 a bag sale from 11am – 1pm!

ANNUAL FEED A FARMER EVENT hosted by the Mount Pleasant FFA! From noon to 3 pm they will be set up at Chem-Gro in Salem, AgriCenter in Mount Pleasant, and Becks in Mount Pleasant. Des Moines County Conservation invites you to “Hike A Park” at Denning Conservation Area in Lee County at 4pm.  This event is open to the public, no registration or fee is required.  Explore the reconstructed tall-grass prairie and adjacent wildlife habitat at Denning Conservation Area.  The park is located at 1640 130th Street in Donnellson, Iowa.  Dress for the weather and bring a water bottle!  For more information, check out the Starr’s Cave Nature Center Facebook page or contact Naturalist, Jacklyn at 319-572-1508.
