Celebration for the 4th of July begins at 10 a.m. in New London. VFW Post 7641 Auxiliary is sponsoring the Fourth of July Parade under the theme “Honoring Our Quilts of Valor.” Quilt of Valor recipients will serve as parade grand marshals.

A Mt. Pleasant Community 4th of July CELEBRATION at McMillan Park starts at 5pm!  Food, games, and FIREWORKS at dark!  The Henry County Cattlemen are serving food under the grandstand, Snacks provided by SE Dance Competition Team, and the Pineapple Whip truck will be on hand!

  • 5pm: PARADE (line up at 4:30pm near the Carousel Building)
  • 5:30pm: Meet you local Heroes!
  • 5:30pm – Dusk: Free Activities including Trolley Rides, Carousel Rides, Bouncy Houses, Face Painting
  • DARK: FIREWORKS!

The Mt. Pleasant Golf and Country Club is hosting a community event starting at 5 p.m. This celebration is open to the public and will include live music by Linc & the Drifters, food trucks, and activities for the kids and of course fireworks at dark!

Celebrate 4th of July with Cruise Night in Salem, Iowa from 5pm – 7pm!  Classic cars, and the Salem Farmer’s Market will be at the town square!  The Salem Farmer’s Market is open from 4:30pm – 7:30pm!

It is an Independence Day Celebration in Wayland, sponsored by the Wayland Lions Club!  Events start with breakfast at 6:30am, a parade, lunch, and fireworks!  www.waylandiowa.com

  • 9:30a-10:15a  Registration at Main/Jefferson and Line up for the Parade at Washington St. by The Bar

  • Tractors on Washington St.
  • Horses on Pearl St. by the Wayland Mennonite Church
  • Autos/Floats by 4-M Plumbing on Main St.

  • FIREWORKS at Dusk

Celebrate the 4th of July at the Veterans Hall in Keosauqua with a Free Will donation supper from 4pm – 7pm.  Hamburgers, hotdogs, brats, potato salad, and baked beans are on the menu and a Raffle for a 36″ Blackstone is $5/ticket! All proceeds go toward helping veterans:  Thank You is Never Enough!

4th of July festivities in Morning Sun are underway with a breakfast at 6:30am at the American Legion Building and activities all morning in uptown Morning Sun!  The Mile Long Parade is at 3pm followed by:

  • Horseshoe tournament at the Park
  • Methodist Church Ice Cream Social
  • Food Vendors
  • 7:00pm Evening Entertainment
  • FIREWORKS AT DUSK

Located at 1669 Old Hwy 34, past the Golf Course, North side.  Lit up at 10pm!
