Today is the deadline to register for the HCHC Diabetes Education Team’s two day class that will be held October 24 and October 25 from 8:30 to 11:30 each morning.  This program is open to anyone with Type 1 or Type diabetes. Call 319-385-6518 to register.

Thrashers House of Terror is open from  6 pm to midnight at McMillan Park in Mount Pleasant. $10 per person or $20 for a fast pass. Details at thrashershouseofterror.com. The Midwest Haunted Rails features the Ghost Train of No Return and the Ghostly Trolley. Friday night hours are 6 to 10 pm. Saturday hours are 6 to 10:30 pm. $15 per person. The Haunted School is open in Bonaparte from 7 to 10 pm tonite and again on October 22, 28 and 29.  The school is located at 602 8th Street. Admission is $10 per person.
