The Mount Pleasant city compost site is open from 8 am to 5 pm on Saturdays and 1 to 6 pm on Wednesdays.  The site is located on Yocum Lane behind Saunders Park.

The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market has moved to Central Park for this Saturday only.  Market hours are still 8:30 to 11 am.

Greater Iowa Swap Meet and Flea Market at McMillan Park in Mount Pleasant.  Free admission and parking.

A Memorial Day Program will be conducted by the Lockridge Veterans Association. Event begins with Coffee, tea, juice, pastries and fellowship at 8:30 at the Community Center. Main program begins at 9:00 and last about an hour. Update to Memorial, Opening reading; POW/MIA Recognition. Main program: Speech and Video clip. Posting of Flags, Honor Guard and Dismissal.

Henry County Heritage Center Museum is the location for a tag sale from 9 am to whenever.  There will be books, household items, and miscellaneous.  Some items will be marked with prices and a free will donation will be asked for some items.  Proceeds will help offset museum costs.

Main Street Mount Pleasant is sponsoring Farmhouse Central Vintage Market in Central Park from 9 am to 3 pm.  This event features antique and vintage decor, repurposed, re-imagined or up-cycled items, handcrafted goods, architectural salvage, primitive and farmhouse accents.

At 2 p.m. the Grant Cemetery Board invites everyone to the cemetery for the dedication of the Veterans memorial that has been placed in the cemetery honoring the Veterans who are buried there.  Grant Cemetery is located Northwest of Rome on Benton Avenue. Please bring a lawn chair if you wish.

There is a Winfield All School Reunion open from 2 to 5 pm at Twin Lakes in Winfield.  Refreshments will served and the bar will be open.

The Winfield Museum is open today from 2 to 5 pm.

The New London VFW Post 7641 will have their Catfish & Chicken Dinner from 5-7 p.m. Catfish $12/person, Chicken $8/person, Chicken all white $9/person. Dinner Includes: Roll & Choice of 2 Sides Sides: French Fries, Baked Beans & Coleslaw
