At the Lee County Fair….the Beef Show starts at 9 am and there will be Farm Bureau games and activities from noon to 2 pm. The rabbit and small pet show starts at 2 pm. Other events…2 pm local wine expo judging, 3 pm wine expo tasting, 4 pm Farm Bureau cookout judging and tasting.  The kids pedal pull  pull is at 5:30 pm and the kids power wheel derby is at 7 pm followed by the Demo Derby at 7:30  pm.  At 9 pm Thin Blue Line Productions will be in the Denning Pavilion and Decade of Decadence will perform in the Entertainment Pavilion.

The Players Workshop’s annual fundraising garage sale is from 8-2 at 1431 Grove Street in Burlington. Good, usable items of every size and description are available for sale.  And nothing is pre-priced—you pay what you think your purchase is worth.  $1.00 bag sale begins at 1:00 p.m.

A “Pro-Roe Rally” will be held at 4:00 p.m., in Mount Pleasant beginning on the South side of Central Park. Participants are invited to march around the square then along Jefferson Street to the statue of Belle Babb Mansfield on Iowa Wesleyan University’s campus. Speakers will share important perspectives on this complex issue.

The Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra will present its Symphonic Blast! concert at the band shell in Crapo (kray-poe)Park in Burlington on Saturday, at 8:00 PM. They will perform music of John Williams, the 1812 Overture, Magnificent Seven, and Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever among others. There will be an amazing fireworks display by J & M Displays.
