The Mount Pleasant City Compost Site is open from 8 am to 5 pm. The site is located behind Saunders Park at the intersection of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive.

The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market will be held from 8:30 am to 11 am under Wright Pavilion in McMillan Park.

The Villages of Van Buren County host the annual Scenic Drive Festival thru the weekend. Take in the fall colors, the historic sites as well as the flea markets, car shows, arts and crafts that each village has to offer.

The Winfield Fire and Rescue will hold their annual soup supper from 5 to 7 pm at the Fire Station.  The menu includes chili or cheesy potato soup, lettuce sandwich, drink and a brownie or a cookie.  Dine-in or curbside pickup available.

The Centenary United Methodist Church of Morning Sun will hold its 99th annual Harvest Fest Dinner at the church.  A full menu will be served from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.  Cost is $12.00 per meal.  Drive thru curbside pick-up only.

Thrashers House of Terror is open from  6 pm to midnight at McMillan Park in Mount Pleasant. $10 per person or $20 for a fast pass. Details at thrashershouseofterror.com.

This is the first weekend for the Midwest Haunted Rails featuring the Ghost Train of No Return and the Ghostly Trolley. Saturday hours are 6 to 10:30 pm. $15 per person. Ages 4 and under are free.  Find out more at oldthreshers.com.
