Join Mount Pleasant Park and Rec at their first Trout Release to be held at 11 am on October 22nd at East Lake Park here in Mount Pleasant! During this event, the Iowa DNR will release 1,000 trout fish and 100 of those released will be tagged. The first 25 participates that catch a tagged fish will receive a prize. The release will occur at 10:00 a.m. and Trout Fishing will begin at 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. This event is FREE, but anglers need to be properly licensed and participants will need to bring appropriate gear. Holy Trinity Catholic School God’s Portion Sale begins at 4 pm with Happy Hour and the grain auction followed by lots of good food, tons of auction items and lots of fun.  Come to the Holy Trinity Catholic High School in Ft. Madison.

There is a Reunion for former Bluebird Midwest employees at Mi Pueblo in Mount Pleasant.  Please meet outside at 5:55 pm.

Thrashers House of Terror is open from  6 pm to midnight at McMillan Park in Mount Pleasant. $10 per person or $20 for a fast pass. Details at thrashershouseofterror.com. The Midwest Haunted Rails featuring the Ghost Train of No Return and the Ghostly Trolley. Saturday hours are 6 to 10:30 pm. $15 per person. The Haunted School is open in Bonaparte from 7 to 10 pm tonite and again on October 28 and 29.  The school is located at 602 8th Street. Admission is $10 per person.

There is a Cotillion Club dance at The Loft in downtown Burlington. Dance from 7 to 10 pm.  This is open to the public. Cover charge of $12.50 for non-members.  Snack food will be served.

The Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra presents its’ Masterworks Series titled Towering Footprints. Performances will be held this evening at 7:30 pm at the Capital Theater in Burlington, Sunday at 2 pm at the Bridge View Center in Ottumwa and again Sunday at 6:30 pm in the Iowa Wesleyan University Chapel in Mt. Pleasant.
