The Annual Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast will be held from 6:30 to 11 am at the Mount Pleasant First United Methodist Church.  A free will donation will be asked to support the purchase of elementary school library books.

The Annual Mount Pleasant Christian School Auction will be held at the school on East Washington Street beginning at 9:02 am.

There will be a Grand Opening for the Mount Pleasant Childrens Discovery Center from 10 am to 1 pm.  The Center is located on the east side of the Public Library/Civic Center building on East Monroe Street.

Henry County Conservation is hosting a program on Iowa rocks.  From 10 am to 11:30 am come to the Nature Center at Oakland Mills for Iowa Rocks and Geode Cracking with Mike Messer. Find out about how Iowa was formed, what creatures live here long ago and learn more about cool rocks and fossils.  This is a free program.  Preregistration at mycountyparks.com is appreciated but not necessary.

The Oakville United Methodist Promise Circle will sponsor the 33rd annual taco supper from 5 to 7:30 pm at the Oakville Community Buiding. Serving homemade tacos, taco baskets, hamburgers, desserts and drinks for a free will donation.

The 7th Annual Mount Pleasant Panther Trap Team Banquet Fundraiser will be held at Airport Road Vineyard.  The social hour begins at 5:30 pm and the dinner begins at 7 pm.  There will be a silent auction, a live auction and raffles. Tickets are $25.

There will be a free will donation chili and salad supper at the Mt. Pleasant Veterans Hall to raise money to help send boys to Iowa Hawkeye Boys State sponsored by American Legion Post #58.  The public is invited. Serving is 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

The Salem Friends Church will host a Worshipful Concert at 7 pm featuring Annie Savage and Greg Blake. The program will include blue grass, gospel and Celtic music as well as standard hymns and much more.

The Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra presents the second Masterworks Series concerts at 7:30 pm at the Bridge View Center in Ottumwa. There are two performances on Sunday…2 pm at the Capital Theater in Burlington and 6:30 pm at the Iowa Wesleyan University Chapel. Adult tickets are $20 and children thru age 22 are free.
