The second legislative forum in Jefferson County will be held at 7:30 am at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center. Senator Adrian Dickey and Representatives Helena Hayes and Jeff Shipley will be in attendance. This event is free and open to the public.

Noah’s Ark Animal Foundation is hosting a low-cost microchip and vaccination clinic from 11 am to 2 pm at the Foundation’s location, 1986 Gear Avenue in Fairfield. No appointment necessary. All proceeds benefit the animals and programs of the Noah’s Ark Animal Foundation.

6th Annual Thank You Is NOT Enough Soup Supper.  Saturday, February 18th at The Loyal Order of The Moose in Mt. Pleasant, 198 N. Saunders Ave., from 5-7pm. Open to the public. Proceeds go to Veterans and First Responders. It will be a Free Will Donation. All kinds of soups and veggies. Quilts of Valor ceremony honoring Veterans will begin at 5:30. There will be 12 quilts given out at this ceremony.

Head to the Oakland Mills Nature Center at 10 a.m. for a Taxidermy Demonstration with Henry County Conservation Department board member, Tony Brown. Have you ever wondered how all the nature center displays are made? Find out at this fun program! Mr. Brown will show you how taxidermy is done and give you some tips and tricks to try at home. This program is free and open to the public. All ages welcome. Preregistration is appreciated but not necessary.

The New London Holiday Stroll & Events Committee is holding a Sweetheart Bingo fundraiser from 1-4 pm at the New London Community Center. Play Bingo for prizes. Hotdogs and pizza will be available

Emily Walker Benefit at St. James Parish Center, 2044 Locust St. Saint Paul, IA. Free will donation pulled pork dinner and supervised kids activities from 4-8 p.m., auction begins at 6 p.m. Auction items can be donated and dropped off at JM Electric, 2231 Hwy. 61 West Point, IA, Monday-Friday 7am-6pm.

Players Workshop will hold the second of its free, informational “Coffee and Stagecraft” workshops, on Sat., Feb. 18, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until noon, at the Workshop at 1431 Grove St., Burlington.  This month’s topic is Set Design and Construction.  No pre-registration is required.  Just meet in the lobby for coffee and learn the tricks of the trade for building an eye-catching and usable set. The Mount City Offices are closed Monday, February 20 for Presidents Day.  Garbage will be collected one day later February 20 thru February 24.
