Asbury United Methodist Church of Burlington has a huge annual rummage and bake sale at the church, located at 2128 S. Main Street.  Hours are 8 am to 1 pm.  Items include: file cabinet, folding chairs, office chair, lamps, clocks, glassware, dishes, collectibles, baking pans, sm. appliances, canner, baking dishes, toaster oven, new shoes, pictures, frames, wooden crates, nice keyboard, tools, gardening and garage items, bike rack, toolboxes, glass top patio table, books, jewelry, vintage toys, play pen, cedar lined footlocker, and lots of misc. Plus, yummy baked goods.

The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is back under the pavilion at McMillan Park with regular Saturday hours 8:30 am to 11 am.

The Kimzey Funeral Home sponsors “Coming Together – a 20 year anniversary special” in honor of September 11th, Patriot Day.  This Music and the Spoken Word radio special features the Tabernacle Choir and will air at 9 am on Saturday on 105.5 FM.

Henry County is having a 1 Hour Sale, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, behind the building at 106 E Clay St.  It will be desk tops, file cabinets, lockers, storage cabinets and chairs. There will be a bid sheet including price and phone number. Items must be picked up that day by noon or they will be disposed of.

The Ft. Madison Grand Rodeo Parade begins at 9:30 am on Avenue G featuring over 1,000 horses and riders.  Tonight is Military Night.  The Rodeo performance begins at 7 pm in C.E. “Eddie” Richards Arena.  Cole Swindell will perform following exciting rodeo action.

Main Street Mount Pleasant presents “Burgers and Bikes.”  From 6 to 9 pm in Central Park, hamburgers and pork burgers will be available for purchase and there will also be a motorcycle cruise.  Music is by Dan “Defiance” Moyers and the event will honors first responders.

New London VFW hosts a dinner tonight from 5 to 7 pm.  Ham steak is $10 and ribeye steak is $17 and includes baked potato, salad and dinner roll.
