The Fellowship Cup is celebrating 40 years with a free pancake breakfast served from 7 am to 10 am.  The Cup is located on North Jefferson Street in Mount Pleasant across from the Post Office.

Lake Geode Fun Run starting at 9 am at the Beach in the Park.  Cost is $20. Registration on day of the event. for more info visit friendsofgeode.org/events.

God’s Portion Day to benefit Holy Trinity Catholic Schools.  It starts with a Happy Hour at 4 pm at the High School in Fort Madison.  There will be grilling items available from 4 to 7 and the Grow-An-Acre Grain Sale starts at 4 pm with a live auction to follow.  There’s a $10,000 cash raffle drawing at 9.  There will also be a silent auction and fun and games in the kids zone.

The New London VFW is serving Ham steak dinners for $10.00 and Ribeye steak dinners for $18.00. Dinner includes Baked potato, salad & dinner roll from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

The Winfield Presbyterian Church at 302 S. Locust in Winfield, is hosting a recognition of local Fire, Rescue and Police Departments.  The evening will begin at 5:30 with a light supper and continue with a short program that will show our appreciation for the work  and sacrifices shown by these individuals.  The community is invited.

The Cotillion Club announces the second dance of the 2021-2022 schedules. Ned Francis will play your favorites at THE LOFT in downtown Burlington, Iowa. Dance from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., open to the public, singles welcome and they encourage membership for 2021-2022. This is a Boots and Jeans dance theme. Cover charge is $12.50 per person for non-members, masks required.

Come to the Halloween Haunted School tonight and Saturday night Oct 23, Friday night Oct 29 and Saturday night Oct 30 7 pm to 11 pm in the former Bonaparte Iowa elementary school. Spooks, ghosts and goblins.  Guaranteed to scare you!. Admission is $10.
