The St. Alphonsus Ladies for Charity Rummage Sale is  9 am to noon in Manning Hall, 607 S. Jackson Street in Mount Pleasant. Masks are strongly suggested. Disposable masks will be provided.

The IWU Homecoming Parade begins at 10 am from the campus. The parade route goes south on Jefferson to Monroe, on Monroe east to Adams Street, north on Adams to the new Willis Wrestling Facility at 205 East Taft Street where there will be a dedication ceremony for the facility.

There is a Homecoming Tailgate and Lunch and the Tiger Fan Zone is open from 11:30 am to 2 pm at Mapleleaf Athletic Complex.  The IWU Homecoming football game kicks off at 1 pm.

Other IW Homecoming events include the Alumni & Friends Choir Reunion from 4 to 5 pm on the third floor of Old Main and a reception from 6 to 6:30 pm in the Howe Atrium prior to the Alumni Awards and Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet in the social hall.

The Louisa County Fine Art Show runs today from 10 am to 4 pm at the Morning Sun Community Center. This is a juried art show and features southeast Iowa artists. It is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted.

Relay for Life Washington County is today at the Washington County Fairgrounds Cattle Barn from 11 am to 7:30 pm.  The opening ceremony is at 11.  The dessert/live food auction is at 2.  The survivor and caregiver ceremony is at 4:30, Aces and Eights is performing from 5 to 7 and the luminary ceremony is at 7.  Kids games and a bags tournament go throughout the day.

The 70th annual God’s Acre Sale is today at St. James Catholic Church in St. Paul.  The charity auction starts with grains at 1 pm.  A lunch stand will be open throughout serving turkey and roast beef sandwiches and homemade pies.  There are several raffles: grand prize is $5000 cash, second is $1000 cash, there’s a quilt raffle as well as a Yeti cooler and Blackstone grill.  Events are in the Parish Center and Gym.

The Winfield Presbyterian Church at 302 S. Locust St. in Winfield is hosting Christian singer, guitarist, pianist Danen Kane from the Green Bay Wisconsin area,  at 7:00 p.m. Kane has toured nationally and internationally.  He has the ability to make his music accessible to everyone.  All are welcome to the concert and a time of fellowship and refreshments following the concert.

Rural Henry County residents who take their recyclables to the county collection site in New London are asked to refrain from taking them to the site Monday, October 4.

October 3-18 Washington Public Library is hosting a display of the History of Washington County 4-H.  On the second level of the library there is a collection of old 4-H record books, pictures, award programs, club programs, county fair records and more dating back to 1940s.  This historic display helps celebrate National 4-H Week.
