The Alzheimer’s Association welomes everyone to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s today.  They support critical research, care and support.  It will be held at Westland Mall, 550 S. Gear Avenue in West Burlington.  Registration is at 8 am and the walk is at 9.  Or download the app and participate by walking from home anytime.  Register and donate at alz.org/walk.

Mount Pleasant Farmers Market at McMillan Park in Wright Pavilion from 4:00 to 6 pm and again on Saturday from 8:30 to 11 am.

Villages of Van Buren will host the countywide Scenic Drive Festival, always the second full weekend of October. Check out the events and activities scheduled thru Sunday in each of the Villages by clicking here

St. Mary’s Catholic Church of West Point has their Fall Festival at the Holy Trinity Gym in West Point.  The auction begins at 10:30 am.  A ham dinner will be served from 10:30 to 1 with takeout available.  Raffle tickets are $25 each or 5 for $100 with the top prize of a brand new John Deere Gator or $8000 cash and the drawing is at 2 pm.  Pulled pork and roast beef sandwiches will be served from 2 to 7 and the grain auction starts at 7!

Iowa WINS will hold its annual meeting at 2 pm at the Mount Pleasant First Presbyterian Church.  In addition to installation of new officers, there will be a guestspeaker.  Erica Johnson will share information about Iowa Migrant Movement for Justice.  The public and all supporters are welcome to attend.

“Bill Butler – Henry County to Hollywood” – A Presentation by Judy Rawson, Bill’s daughter. The presentation will be at 2 pm at the Henry County Heritage Center Museum, 403 W. Madison, Mt.Butler is an award winning cinematographer for “Jaws”, “Grease” and “Rocky” II – IV.
This is a FREE event but Donations are always Appreciated.

Winfield Fire & Rescue’s annual Soup Supper is from 5 to 7 pm at the Fire Station, located at 110 West Ash.  This is by dine-in, curbside pickup or in-town Winfield delivery.  The menu: chili or cheesy potato soup, lettuce sandwich, cookie or brown and a drink.  The meal is by freewill donation.  Delivery must be called in by 4 pm today by calling 319-257-6618.
