Lockridge Fire & Rescue is serving up a biscuit and gravy breakfast from 6 am to 11:30 am at the Lockridge School. Dine in or carry out. Your freewill donation will help purchase turnout gear.

The Mount Pleasant City compost site is open for the season Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm and Wednesdays from 1 to 6 pm. The site is located southwest of Saunders Park at the intersection of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive.

The Farmington Strawberry Festival continues today.  A pancake breakfast starts at 7 and events run throughout the day.  Free strawberries and ice cream are served from 2 to 4 pm.

The Salem City Wide Garage Sales are going on today from 8 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 2 pm.  Watch for the signs.

The Relay for Life Team, No One Walks Alone, will hold it’s annual sale during the Salem City Wides in the Salem Park shelter house.

The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is open from 8:30 am to 11 am at McMillan Park in the Wright Pavilion.

Henry County Public Health will have a walk-in covid 19 vaccination clinic from 9 to 10 at the First Presbyterian Church on South Walnut Street in Mount Pleasant.  This is for ages 18 and older.  Spanish interpreters will be available.

The Oakland Mills Nature Center is open Saturday mornings from 9 am to noon. Weekday appointments can be made by call 319-986-5067.

Today from 9 am to noon, the Friends of HCHC and the HCHC Foundation will be in the north associate parking lot collecting confidential files to be shredded on site as well as e-waste, televisions and computer monitors.  Document shredding is $6 per copier paper box.  E-waste consists of hard drives, keyboards, fax machines, copiers, DVD players, and VCRs. These items will be collected for .50 cents a pound.  Televisions will be collected only if they are fully intact and not broken. Up to four TVs will be accepted per load. The first two TVs are $25 each, the third and fourth TV are $20 each. Computer monitors are $7 each. Enter the parking lot from White Street and follow the signs to the appropriate area.  Proceeds from this event benefit projects of the Friends of HCHC and the HCHC Foundation.  For more information, call 319-385-6524.

New London VFW serves Boecker and Crews’ Smoked Ribs from 5 to 7:30 pm.  Sides include cheesy potatoes, baked beans and a roll for $14.  Ribs only are $11 for a half rack.  Carryouts, call 319-367-5009.

Come out and enjoy a great meal while supporting WMU Football! The Wolves Football Classic Dinner is Free Will Donation meal open to the public from 5-7pm at Twin Lakes Golf & Country Club in Winfield.  Serving Pulled Pork, Baked Beans, Coleslaw, Chips & Desserts.
