June 5

Families – join Healthy Henry County for fun, games, and learning as you walk a loop around the park. Start by the tennis courts! Some of the stations include boat safety, bike safety, kindness rock painting, an obstacle course for little kids, a healthy snack, bubbles, and various kids games sponsored by local organizations! The Sheriff’s office will be fingerprinting kids and sending you home with an ID kit and car seat techs will be available to check your car seat if needed. There will be giveaways too. We will share more details as we confirm them! If you’ve been to our Healthy Halloween Walk this is very similar! If it happens to rain, the event will be rescheduled for June 12th.

This is the final day of the Birmingham Homecoming celebration.  Sunday activities include the breakfast buffet from 7 to 9 pm, the church service at 10 am and the tractor pull at 11 am.

Denmark Heritage Days will wrap up with breakfast at 7:30 am, the church service in the shelter house at 10 am, the ham ball dinner at the church at 11 am and the tractor parade at 1 pm.

Enjoy local music, food and beverages at the Lee County Fairgrounds from 1 to 7 pm.  All donations will go to a church in Hungary supporting the refugees of Ukraine.

The Burlington Municipal Band’s 95th season will begin with a concert at 7:30 PM at the Crapo Park bandshell. This concert will be the annual “Teddy Bear’s Picnic” concert.  Kids of all ages should bring their teddy bears or other stuffed animals and join in the teddy bear’s parade.  The performance is also the band’s educational outreach event and the band will be joined by eight outstanding middle school students from area schools who will perform with us on two selections.  Additional highlights of the concert will include vocal soloist Adrian Benson and a performance of “Peter and the Wolf” narrated by Brayden Bowers.  The family-friendly concerts are free of charge.  Bring lawn chairs or blankets or sit on provided park benches.
