The Henry County Optimist Club would appreciate help to take down the Mount Pleasant flag display on Tuesday, July 5. Meet in front of US Bank on Washington Street in Mount Pleasant at 6:30 pm. Please note this is a change of date.

The Burlington Municipal Band’s 7:30 PM concert at the Crapo Park bandshell will be conducted by BHS band director Derrick Murphy.  Derrick has chosen a patriotic theme for the concert.   The concert will also feature the Nauvoo Pageant Bagpipe Band which will appear at 6:15 prior to the Muni Band’s performance and then the two bands will combine for three pieces.  The family-friendly concert is free of charge.  Bring a lawn chair or a blanket or sit on provided benches.  In case of rain, the concert will move to the James Madison Educational Center Auditorium at 2132 Madison Avenue.

July 4 the Mount Pleasant City offices are closed for the holiday. Garbage collection will be one day later thru the week.
