At 1:30 p.m., the Dover Museum in New London will be pleased to host Brent Japsen.  A long time artifact hunter, Brent will exhibit and explain examples from his extensive collection of native American pieces he has found in Henry and Des Moines Counties.  Enjoy refreshments.  There is no charge. The Museum is located on Main Street in New London.  It is air conditioned and handicap accessible.

The community is invited to Mount Pleasant’s Central Park from 3 to 6 pm for a Patriot Day celebration hosted by the Optimist Club of Henry County.  There will be free hotdogs and drinks, free kids activities including a bouncy house and local law enforcement and emergency responders will be there with their vehicles on display.  For $5 dollars you can throw a ball and dunk a local celebrity in the dunk tank.

New London Homecoming festivities kick off with the annual kickball game for highschool students.  Food will be available at 6 pm for the students and the game starts at 7 pm.  The community is welcome to attend.  The concession stand will be open during the game. Monday is USA Day.  All grade levels are encouraged to dress according to that theme.
