At 1:30 pm the Dover Museum in New London will celebrate Iowa’s 175^th birthday with a salute to ‘Iowa’s People and Places’, presented by Virginia Ekstrand.  Visuals are from the Iowa State Historical Society in Des Moines.  No charge.

The Mount Pleasant Community Theatre presents, “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon” at 7 pm on the performance level of the Old Threshers Theatre Museum.  The performance is free but free will donations will be appreciated.  There will also be performances on October 29 at 7 pm and October 30 at 2 pm.

Trick or Treat Night in Houghton’s is from 4 to 5:30 pm.

The Winfield Wiener Roast will be held from 4:30 to 5 pm. Trick or Treat will be from 4-6 pm. There will also be a Halloween Costume Contest, sponsored by Winfield Lions Club. Registration is at 4:30pm, Judging at 5PM.  No late entries will be accepted. The contest willl be held next to the Winfield Halloween Weiner Roast, near the Freedom Rock. There will be five categories this year and prizes will be awarded.

In Wapello the Louisa County Sheriff’s office will have Trunk or Treat from 4 to 6 pm at the Louisa County Court House.

There will be a Harvest Mass of Thanksgiving at 4 pm at the Ralph and Colleen Krogmeier Farm, 2149 Franklin Road near Franklin, Iowa.  If you wish bring a small sample of your garden produce, field crop or a image of the animals you raise. There will be a potluck following the Mass. Please bring a dish to share. Table service and drinks provided.
