June 4

This is the final day of Denmark Heritage Days.  Breakfast is served at the church starting at 7:30 am. There will be a church service in the park at 10 am and the ham ball dinner will be served at 11 am at the church. Enjoy music by Brendan Tapp in the Shelter House at 11 am.  The cornhole tournament starts at 11 am and the tractor parade is at 1 pm.

Stride Into Summer Family Walk from 1-4 pm at East Lake Park in Mount Pleasant.  Start at the tennis courts. This is a free fun, family friendly activity featuring educational stations as you walk a loop thru the park. For more info check out Healthy Henry County on Facebook.

The Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church invites everyone to a festival worship and concert to celebrate the re-dedication of the church’s historic 1928 pipe organ.  The service begins at 10 am followed by lunch, a program at 1:30 pm and then an organ recital by Jan Kraybill at 2 pm.

The Burlington Municipal Band’s Teddy Bear’s Picnic concert will begin the band’s summer season at the Crapo Park bandshell this Sunday evening at 7:30 PM.  The family-friendly concert, funded by the Community Foundation of Des Moines County, is also the band’s “educational outreach” concert featuring outstanding middle school band students from around the area.  In keeping with the youthful nature of the concert, conductor Mark Eveleth has chosen a program that should have lots of appeal to the younger set!  Bring your teddy bear or other stuffed toy and plan to join in the Teddy Bear Parade!  Bring a lawn chair or blanket or sit on provided benches.
