July 4th *Fourth of July*

For today only, the New London Presbyterian Church service will air on KILJ at 10:30 am.  We will go back to our normal schedule next week.

The New London 4th of July celebration begins with pancakes in the park starting at 7 am and then walking tacos at 11 am. Kids games in the park starting at noon.  The parade begins at 1 pm.  There will be a bags tournament at 1 pm at the VFW and a coloring contest for kids at 2 pm.  The VFW will serve maidrites, beans and chips starting at 2 pm. The parade participants get free hotdogs courtesy of the VFW and the Post will also serve cake in celebration of its’ 75 Anniversary.

Mount Pleasant Fireworks start at dark at McMillan Park.

The Burlington Municipal Band performs tonight.  The conductor is West Burlington music teacher Jeremy Henman.  The family-friendly concert will be at the Crapo Park bandshell at 7:30 pm.  You are welcome to bring a lawn chair or blanket.

Monday July 5 KILJ and the Kimzey Funeral Home bring you a special Music and the Spoken Word radio special with the Tabernacle Choir called “The Privilege of Freedom.”  You can hear it on 105.5 FM starting at 9 am.

Mount Pleasant City offices are closed July 5 in observance of Independence Day.  Garbage collection will be one day later this week.

The Mount Pleasant Public Library is closed July 5.
