Junkin Sisters Shop Hop Spring Edition runs throughout southeast Iowa today.  Look for the Junkin Sisters Shop Hop Facebook page to print out a map.  There will be door prizes as well.  Shops are open today from noon to 4 pm, unless noted on the business.

The ABATE #18 Annual Leather Run will begin with sign up at Haller’s, 1619 Osborn Street, Burlington.  The Ride will end at the Out Post, 2505 Mt Pleasant Street, Burlington.  Motorcycles and automobiles may participate in this event. Participants can register and pay the $10 ABATE member/$12 nonmember entry fee from 10:00 a.m. until the Noon start time the day of the ride. The public is invited to the Outpost for a 5p silent auction.  This year’s Leather Run proceeds will go to ABATE #18 Coordinator, Terry Neff who is fighting throat cancer.

Swedesburg Orgelmusik Concert: Victory will be performed at 2 pm.  Organist Matthew Penning, Director of Music Ministries at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Iowa City will perform.  Join them in person or online: www.facebook.com/SwedesburgLutheran  Swedesburg Lutheran Church is located at 1897 140th Street, Mt. Pleasant.  They will accept a free will offering for the Organ Fund.  The recital will feature a variety of organ music indifferent styles depicting moments of biblical victory.

The Annual Meeting of the Mount Pleasant Community Theatre will be held at 4 pm at the Masonic Temple. Everyone interested in all aspects of theatre is encouraged to attend.

April 26 thru April 29 is spring clean up week in Mount Pleasant.  Items to be picked up must be placed on the curb the same day as the regular trash pickup by the city in your neighborhood. If you don’t utilize the city service you may still put items on the curb.  Everyone must adhere stickers to your pile of trash.  For more information contact the city Public Works office at 319-385-1480.
