This is free fishing weekend in Iowa.  A fishing license is not needed to fish today.

Denmark Heritage Days wraps up in Denmark, Iowa with breakfast at the church at 7:30 am, the ham ball dinner at the church from 11 am to 1 pm and the tractor parade at 1 pm.

Green Mound Church of God invites everyone to come say farewell to Pastor Nancy from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. The church is located west of Trenton.

The Dover Museum in New London is hosting a program at 1:30 featuring Paul Gorrell.  Paul will bring items from his extensive collection of small items invented over the years by creative Americans to get a particular job done. He will share what they are and how they were used in a humorous presentation.  The program is free and refreshments will be served.

There will be an information meeting for girls interested in participating in the 2021 Old Threshers Sweet Sixteen program at 2pm at the Midwest Old Threshers Office in Mount Pleasant.

The inaugural Summerfest will be hosted by Youthify from 4-8 pm outdoors at Wellspring Free Church on South Grand Avenue in Mount Pleasant. Teenagers ages 11-19 are invited come enjoy free food, games and a giant waterslide. The event will wrap up with worship lead by teens and featuring a special speaker.
The Burlington Municipal Band returns to the Crapo Park Bandshell at 7:30 pm.  The concert, conducted by Jim Priebe,  will be the band’s traditional Teddy Bears’ Picnic concert and kids are asked to bring their Teddy Bears or other favorite stuffed toys.  Veterans will be honored with a performance of the Armed Forces Salute and will be asked to stand when the anthem for their branch of the service is played.  All concerts are family friendly and free of charge.  Bring your lawn chair or a blanket.
