Mt. Pleasant Music Boosters fruit/cheese/sausage sale begins today and runs thru Wednesday, November 2nd.  Band students in 5th-11th grades will be selling quality fruit/sausage/cheese to raise funds to put in their trip accounts towards future band trips. The Lockridge Fire Department is hosting a blood drive from 3:30 to 7:30 pm at the Lockridge School.

The Mount Pleasant Moose Lodge, at 108 N. Saunders Street, serves tacos every Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm.

The Mount Pleasant Christian School is serving tacos and walking tacos from 5 to 6:30 pm. Apple slushies will also be available for purchase. Dine in or carry out.  Call 319-385-8613 for pickup.This week’s Taco Tuesday is another fundraiser for the 9th-12th graders taking a trip to St. Louis, October 21st, 22nd, 23rd. The students will be working this evening. On the trip they will be doing a service project for the Salvation Army. And for site seeing they will go to the Arch, take a Riverboat Cruise Tour, go to the City Museum, Union Station, Aquarium and St. Louis Zoo.

The Mount Pleasant Chamber Alliance is hosting a Candidates Forum from 6:30 to 8 pm in the Iowa Wesleyan University Social Hall featuring candidates for Henry County offices, candidates for State House Rep and Senate and U.S. District 1 Representative.

Mount Pleasant School District Middle School Choral Concert will be held at 7 pm at the High School.
