The Henry County Engineer’s office announces a road closure beginning today.  Old Highway 34 will be closed between Henry Jefferson Avenue going east to Benton Avenue for about 3 weeks.

Southeastern Community College offers free help with completing the FAFSA form from 3 to 6 pm on both the West Burlington and Keokuk Campuses.  This is open to students of any age and regardless of which college they plan to attend.

Winfield Methodist Chili and Cheesy Potato soup supper from 5 to 6:30 pm. There will be lettuce sandwiches, relish tray, crackers and dessert bars for a free will donation.

Olson Powell Memorial Chapel hosts “Tidings of Joy? Facing the Holidays When Grieving” at 5:30 pm with Joan Rodgers.  This is free and open to the public. The program will conclude with a brief candlelight memorial service.

The City of Mount Pleasant’s FREE LEAF COLLECTION is scheduled for the week of November 14th. All leaves must be bagged and placed at the curb on your designated trash day. Please separate bags of trash from bags of leaves.
This collection is open to all residents, so if your trash is picked up by a service other than the City and you do not know the day of City pickup in your neighborhood, you should call City Hall at 385-1470.
