The Greater Jefferson County Fair is underway.  For the schedule of events, click this link.

The Mount Pleasant City compost site is open for the season Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm and Wednesdays from 1 to 6 pm.  The site is located southwest of Saunders Park at the intersection of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive.

Those who ordered peaches from Youth for Christ can pick them up in Columbus Junction at the Youth Center.

The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is open from 4 to 6 pm in the Wright Pavilion in McMillan Park.

ISU Extension and the Family Connection present “Slide into Summer!”  From 4 to 5:30 pm, come to the west playground at East Lake Park.  Come meet friends, make a craft, play and share summer fun ideas.  Dinner will be provided.  For more information, text 319.931.0067  or email sgardner@iastate.edu.

The Houghton Ball Association Wednesday night league plays. Several local businesses and groups have committed to provide food to the teams and community for this year.  Support the Houghton Ball Association!! Stop by and grab a meal and a cold beverage between 5 and 8 pm  and watch some softball!!

Salem Rec Association is hosting coed adult softball at the Salem Ball Fields on Wednesday evenings. The Salem Association partners with Houghton to host the teams. The Salem Rec Association grills and provides cold beverages between 6pm and 9pm every Wednesday thru the end of July.
