Washington County Fair activities include Kids Day Fun, the 4H & FFA Bucket Bottle Calf Show at 3 pm, Childrens peddle pull at 4:30, State Fair Talent Search at 6:30 pm and the Demo Derby at 7:30 pm.

The Henry County Historic Preservation Commission will meet at 1:00 PM at the Henry County Courthouse.  The public is invited to attend.

The Mount Pleasant City compost site is open for the season Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm and Wednesdays from 1 to 6 pm.  The site is located southwest of Saunders Park at the intersection of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive.

The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is open from 4 to 6 pm in the Wright Pavilion in McMillan Park.

The Houghton Ball Association Wednesday night league plays. Several local businesses and groups have committed to provide food to the teams and community for this year.  Support the Houghton Ball Association!! Stop by and grab a meal and a cold beverage between 5 and 8 pm  and watch some softball!!

The Salem Rec Association is hosting coed adult softball at the Salem Ball Fields on Wednesday evenings. Salem has partnered with Houghton to host the teams. The Salem Rec Association grills and provides cold beverages between 6pm and 9pm every Wednesday thru the end of July.

Special Wednesday taco nights will be held July 21 & August 18 at VFW Post 7641, 802 East McKinley in New London. Tacos will be served from 5:00-7:00 those nights. Regular Wed night tacos will begin September 1.
