DESCRIPTION:All God’s Creatures\, 2205 E. Washington Street in Mt. Pleasant\, is celebrating their 1st year with a “PAWTY” from 1pm – 4pm!  The AGC’s 1st birthday open house with cake & ice cream\, By the Scoop Ice Cream Shop will be on-site serving Hershey’s Ice Cream.  There will be guided shelter tours every 30 minutes and you get to meet the “residents”!  Its a great opportunity to get involved\, find out how you can volunteer and maybe adopt your new best friend.  Come for the ice cream\, stay for the paws! \nThe City of Hillsboro City Council will host a Hillsboro Park Fundraiser Soup Supper on Saturday\, February 21\, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Hillsboro City Hall\, 105 East Commercial Street. This free will donation meal will feature five kinds of soup\, sandwiches\, desserts\, and drinks. Funds raised will support the addition of a pickleball court at the city park. Everyone is welcome to attend. \nThe Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce has a legislative forum scheduled at 7:30am this morning.  This event is free and open to the public and is being held at the Fairfield Public Library.  State legislators Senator Adrian Dickey and Representatives Helena Hayes and Jeff Shipley will provide updates from the Iowa Capitol and discuss issues currently under consideration. \nAll Mount Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce members are invited to attend two upcoming Legislative Forums hosted by the Chamber’s Government Relations Committee with State Representatives Collins and Shipley and State Senators Dickey and Lofgren. The forums will be held at 9:00 a.m. this morning\, and on Friday\, March 20 at 9:00 a.m. at Union Block\, located at 111 West Monroe Street in Mount Pleasant\, and will focus on legislative issues impacting the local community and business environment. \nThe Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce has a legislative forum scheduled at 7:30am.  This event is free and open to the public and is being held at the Fairfield Public Library.  State legislators Senator Adrian Dickey and Representatives Helena Hayes and Jeff Shipley will provide updates from the Iowa Capitol. \nPreserve Oakland Mills is holding a “Save the Bridge” event at the Moose Lodge\, 108 N Saunders Ave\, in Mt. Pleasant.  Join in pizza & puzzles starting at 7pm with all proceeds go toward improvements at Oakland Mills! \nThe annual Lockridge Fire & Rescue Soup Supper and Auction will be held Saturday\, February 21st at the Lockridge School\, with serving from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. This free will donation event raises funds for the purchase of a new gas monitor and additional equipment. Soups served will include chili\, oyster\, chicken noodle\, potato\, vegetable beef\, and beef and noodles\, along with relish trays and desserts. The Southeast Iowa Honor Fireguard will present the colors at 5:30 pm\, with the auction beginning at 6:00 pm. Community members are encouraged to attend\, enjoy a great meal\, and support an important cause. \nThe Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra presents Masterworks #2: Celebrating Youth at 7:30pm at the Bridge View Center.  Young musicians of the Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra will be featured.  For more information\, visit ottumwasymphonyorchestra.org. \n
