Mobile recycling will also be available in New London at the Town Square from 8:15 to 11:30 AM\, and in Danville at City Hall from 1:30 to 3:00 PM. Grand Avenue.  The event will begin with presentation of colors by members of the VFW\, and American Legion Posts & Auxiliaries.  Avenue of Flags Chair and Honor Guard Commander\, Dean King is Master of Ceremonies\, Reverend Brad Gillis will deliver the Invocation and Benediction\, and the  Mt. Pleasant High School Band will perform. \nThe Swedish American Museum is hosting a Memorial Day Service at 10am\, 107 James Avenue in Swedesburg.  This event is free of charge and you are encouraged to bring military photos of your veterans to share.  All are welcome! \nThe City of Salem invites the community to the Salem Time Capsule Opening in Salem City Park at 1:00pm.  Photos\, letters\, and pieces of Salem history will be uncovered for the first time in 50 years!  What memories have been sealed inside? \nThe City of New London reminds residents that garbage & recycling normally scheduled today will be on Tuesday (5/26/26)\, in honor of Memorial Day!
