DESCRIPTION:ImpactLife will host a blood drive on Thursday\, March 5\, 2026\, from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Community High School in Mount Pleasant. The blood drive will take place in The Commons\, located at 2104 South Grand Avenue. Community members are encouraged to donate and help support the ongoing need for blood in the region. Appointments are recommended and can be scheduled through ImpactLife by clicking this link.  \n  \nThe Mount Pleasant Community School District will host a Family Fun Fair on Thursday\, March 5\, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant Central Campus\, located in the 100 block of West Franklin Street. This free community event includes free entry\, a free dinner\, inflatables\, face painting\, prizes\, and giveaways. Families will also have the opportunity to learn more about community and school resources available in the area. The event is sponsored by Mt. Pleasant Hy-Vee\, ConAgra\, MPCSD PTA\, and First United Methodist Church. \nThe Galleries at Southeastern Community College will host “Artist Retrospect of Fifty Years\,” a retrospective exhibition featuring painter David Garrison\, at the Harry and Virginia Murray Art Gallery on March 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. A portrait workshop with the artist will follow on April 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; registration is $15 and required. \nFourth and fifth graders of the Winfield-Mt. Union Community School District will present a living history museum on Thursday\, March 5th\, in the WMU small gym. Families and community members are invited to take a walk through history. Students will be dressing up and portraying important people throughout American history. The museum is interactive\, and attendees are encouraged to ask questions to the students. Students will share stories\, accomplishments\, and the impact that their person had on history. The event starts at 5:30 p.m.\, and will continue until about 6:30.

Located at 101 West Broad Street\, the museum highlights the connection between Senator James Harlan and the family of President Abraham Lincoln\, featuring artifacts and stories from both families. Donations are appreciated\, and additional tour times may be scheduled by appointment. \nFort Madison Junior/Senior High School will host a Career & Technical Education Open House on Wednesday\, March 4\, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the MPR at Fort Madison Junior/Senior High. Community members are invited to explore career pathways\, tour classrooms and labs\, meet instructors and students\, and learn about industry certifications and dual enrollment opportunities. The event highlights how CTE programs prepare students for college and career success. \nNew London V.F.W.
