The race will start immediately following the ceremony and will include an Iowa State Patrol Honor Guard presentation\, an emergency personnel parade\, and a remembrance of eight military personnel lost in the past year. \nWayland Fourth of July Celebration brings a full day of community activities honoring our heroes. The Wayland Lions Club Breakfast is from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Community Center for a free-will donation. Parade lineup will take place from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.\, with the parade stepping off at 10:30 a.m. on Main Street\, rain or shine. National Anthem performance by Kari Hildebrand Brown. A free-will donation lunch hosted by the WACO basketball teams will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at WACO High School. Dine-in and carry-out options will be available. Additional activities include a Horseshoe Tournament at noon in the gravel lot by 4-M Plumbing & Heating and a Variety Show from noon to 1 p.m. at WACO High School featuring local performers\, comedy\, dance groups\, and Elvis tribute entertainment. This event was started as a fundraiser for renovating the concession building at Geode State Park and is sponsored by the Danville Lions Club. \nHistory of Trenton Iowa at 2:00pm with John Bennett- John has done extensive research on the history of Trenton\, Iowa\, one of Henry County’s oldest towns and the location of the Institute of Science!
