Henry County Conservation says a major step has been taken toward bringing a new playground to Jared’s Park, but additional fundraising is still needed to complete the project.
The department announced it has mailed the deposit for the new playground equipment and is now waiting for the manufacturer to provide a delivery date. Officials currently expect the playground to arrive in approximately eight weeks.
However, Henry County Conservation says it still needs to raise $165,085.30 to cover the remaining costs, including professional installation and safety surfacing. Once the playground is completed, the department will have 30 days to make the final payment.
Community members interested in supporting the project can mail or drop off donations at the Henry County Conservation office at 2593 Nature Center Drive in Mount Pleasant. Donations can also be made online through the department’s reservation website under the “Donate to Jared’s Park Playground” tab. A $4 convenience fee applies to credit and debit card donations.
Henry County Conservation says it is excited to see the project moving forward and hopes the community will continue helping bring the new playground to completion.
