Henry County Public Health Offers Free Narcan Kits

Henry County Public Health now offers free Narcan kits, also known as naloxone, for community members to pick up during regular business hours.

Narcan is a lifesaving medicine that can quickly reverse an opioid overdose, including overdoses involving heroin, fentanyl, and prescription opioid medications. Narcan can save a life in minutes, and everyone in our community can help prevent overdose deaths.

Narcan is safe, easy to use, and no medical training is required. When you pick up a Narcan kit, a trained public health staff member will explain how to use it and answer any questions you may have. Narcan can be safely given to people of all ages, from infants to older adults, including children who may have accidentally taken prescription opioid medication.

Henry County Public Health is located at 106 N. Jackson Street in Mt. Pleasant and open Monday – Friday 8am-4pm, excluding holidays. For more information, call Public Health at 319-385-0779 or visitHealthyHenryCounty.org/services.
