Henry County’s unemployment rate increased during July, according to new data from Iowa Workforce Development.
The county’s unemployment rate rose from 3.3% in June to 3.7% in July.
Henry County was also the only nearby county included in the report to experience a year-over-year increase. Its unemployment rate was one-tenth of a percentage point higher than in July 2025.
Unemployment also increased from June to July in neighboring counties. Jefferson County rose from 3.3% to 3.6%, Louisa County increased from 3.2% to 3.4% and Washington County climbed from 2.4% to 2.7%.
Iowa’s statewide unemployment rate remained unchanged at 3.2% for the second consecutive month.
