Iowa community colleges and apprenticeship programs can now apply for a share of $3.5 million to expand training in high-demand fields.
The state’s new Career Training Physical Expansion Grant Program will help eligible organizations build or expand training facilities and increase the number of workers they can train. Individual awards are capped at $1 million, and $1.5 million of the total is reserved for healthcare training.
Iowa Workforce Development says the grants will be paid as reimbursements after approved work is completed or expanded training capacity is confirmed.
Applications are due by 2 p.m. Monday, October 19, at IowaGrants.gov.
