A Lockridge woman faces a domestic-abuse charge following a reported disturbance Sunday night.
Rebecca Carlson, 35, is charged with domestic-abuse assault causing injury or mental illness, first offense—a serious misdemeanor.
Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies responded shortly after 9 p.m. to the 300 block of North Center Street in Lockridge. Court records say deputies found a man with injuries to his head and face. He was evaluated by medical personnel.
Carlson reportedly told deputies she acted in self-defense after the man choked her. Court records allege she struck him several times with objects, including a skillet and a decorative lighthouse.
Carlson was taken to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 24.
A charge is merely an accusation, and Carlson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
