Michael Calvin Griffin, 80, of Fairfield, passed away on September 16, 2026, in Fairfield.

Born on June 27, 1946, to Archie (“Artie”) and Norma Griffin, Mike grew up with a deep appreciation for the community he would go on to serve throughout his life. He proudly served his country in the National Guard and dedicated many years to protecting his neighbors as a volunteer with the Fairfield Fire Department. His industrious spirit was reflected in his career, which included working in maintenance for the City of Fairfield and spending many dedicated years at French-Reneker.

An avid photographer, Mike had a unique gift for capturing the beauty of the world around him. His talent was well-known locally, and several of his photographs are proudly displayed at the Jefferson County Health Center.  He held a profound love for nature—especially eagles—and found great joy in listening to music and bass fishing alongside his family and friends.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Marie (Droz) Griffin; his sister, Kelly Miller of Fairfield; and many cherished nieces, nephews, in-laws, and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra; his parents, Archie and Norma Griffin; his sister, Gaylee Laufer; and his grandparents, Glen and Hazel Burrows.
