It’s Homecoming Friday in Mount Pleasant, and the Panthers will take their celebration through downtown this afternoon.
Mount Pleasant Community High School has crowned its 2026 Homecoming royalty, with Tate Dorothy named Homecoming King and Courtney Andreasen named Homecoming Queen.
The Homecoming court also includes Paige Newton, Grayson Walker, Annika Kerr, Ricardo Aranda, Naomi English, Keegan Heaton, Linzy Striegel and Ethan Peck. Junior attendants are Julia Bowlin and Henry Wagler.
Today’s Homecoming Parade begins at 3:01 p.m. The route starts on Monroe Street in front of City Hall, travels west on Monroe, north on Jefferson Street, east on Madison Street and finishes near North Jay Street.
Mount Pleasant fifth-grade students will also walk together in the parade to show their Panther spirit.
And keep an eye out for some familiar KILJ vehicles along the route. KILJ will have two convertibles in this afternoon’s parade carrying members of the Homecoming royalty.
The celebration leads into tonight’s Homecoming football game as Mount Pleasant students, families, alumni and the community come together for Homecoming Friday.
Congratulations to the 2026 Mount Pleasant Homecoming Court — and go Panthers!
