A rural Mount Pleasant woman is facing several charges following an investigation into an E-bike crash south of Wayland.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded shortly after 7 p.m. August 17 to a single-vehicle injury crash in the 1100 grid of Franklin Avenue.
Authorities say Tiana Schlatter, 32, of rural Mount Pleasant, was traveling south on an E-bike when she crashed. Schlatter was injured and transported to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment.
Following the investigation, Schlatter was charged with second-offense Operating While Intoxicated, Driving While License Revoked, Driving While License Suspended and Failure to Maintain Control.
She was also charged with two counts of Child Endangerment in connection with a related incident. The Sheriff’s Office did not provide additional details about that incident in its release.
Several agencies assisted, including the Iowa State Patrol, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Wayland emergency responders, Henry County Ambulance, Medivac Air Care, Iowa Department of Health and Human Services and the Henry County Attorney’s Office.
All charges are accusations, and Schlatter is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
