The Mount Pleasant Music Boosters are kicking off their annual garbage bag fundraiser, with proceeds helping support music programs throughout the Mount Pleasant Community School District.
Over the next two weeks, representatives from Charity Services will be calling on behalf of the Music Boosters with information about garbage bag prices, sizes, quantities and how to order. Bags purchased through the fundraiser will be delivered directly to customers’ homes.
Music Booster President Randi Leonard says the district is currently working to repair or replace instruments as needed for students in kindergarten through 12th grade, and proceeds from the garbage bag sales will help offset those costs.
Money raised by the Music Boosters goes directly toward the district’s instrumental and vocal music programs. The organization also supports activities including the Marching Band Invitational, High School Variety Show, InMotion Show Choir Invitational, Dessert Theatre, OPUS Honor Choir, All-State Music Festival and Middle School Honor Band Festival.
Membership in the Mount Pleasant Music Boosters is free and includes anyone with children participating in music within the district.
