Mt. Pleasant, IA- The Mt. Pleasant Dance program has a history of developing talent for the next level and Courtney Andreasen added her name to the list after signing her letter of intent to join the Triton Dance Team at Iowa Central Community College. For Andreasen, it is a dream turned into reality,
“I’ve always wanted to dance at college, it’s always been a thought I’ve had. I just didn’t know where I would have the most potential and a place to grow. A friend of mine went to Iowa Central, so I thought ‘ok, maybe I’ll make a visit, try a clinic.’ Ended up really loving it and I’m really excited to start my journey there.”

The senior will be following in the footsteps of fellow Panther alum, Rellana Van Deuren, and that familiarity allows for Mt. Pleasant to exhibit their talents,
“I think it’s really important. Shows the talent in southeast Iowa and all the potential that we have. We’re super excited and can’t wait to represent.”
Moving three-and-a-half hours away, Mt. Pleasant will still hold a special place to Andreasen,
“I really love it. I love the small town feel. It’s quiet and there doesn’t feel like there’s much pressure, especially when trying to grow and improve your talents…”
Along with joining the Dance Team, Andreasen also has her educational route drawn out as she looks to help others,
“I’ll have to start and get my prereq[uisites] in health science and then I plan on doing their dental hygiene program…I think it’s something that I’ll really enjoy and love to learn about.”
