Pollmiller Park Receives $78,000 Grant for New Visitor Facility

Pollmiller Park near West Point will receive a $78,000 state grant to help replace its aging beach house.

The Lee County Conservation Board plans to construct an 806-square-foot visitor-services facility featuring accessible restrooms, concessions and updated amenities.

The entire project is expected to cost $393,675.

Pollmiller Park welcomes more than 6,000 beach visitors and records approximately 2,500 camping nights each year. Visitors from 30 states have stayed at the park during the past five years.

The funding comes from the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Community Attraction and Tourism grant program.
