A months-long investigation into suspected cocaine distribution in Burlington led to a search warrant and the arrest of a 33-year-old man Wednesday.
The Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force says detectives executed a search warrant around 9:30 Wednesday morning, September 24, at an apartment at 1300 Jefferson Street in Burlington.
The Task Force was assisted by the Burlington Police Department, Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement and Burlington Police Department’s Special Response Team.
Police say cocaine hydrochloride was seized during the search.
Dominick Hicks, 33, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, third offense, both Class D felonies. Hicks was also arrested on three Des Moines County warrants for delivery of a controlled substance, each a Class C felony.
The search followed what Burlington Police describe as a several-month investigation into suspected cocaine distribution in the city.
A charge is merely an accusation; a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
