Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice is seeking volunteers to support patients and families across Des Moines, Henry, Lee and Louisa counties.
Volunteers provide companionship, emotional support and practical assistance, primarily in patients’ homes. Opportunities may include running errands, preparing meals, baking cookies, helping with fundraisers and completing administrative tasks.
Virtual volunteers may also create comfort items from home, including quilts, crochet angels, wheelchair bags and dining scarves.
A two-day volunteer training will be held October 14 and 15 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House Conference Room in West Burlington.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, pass a criminal background check and attend both training sessions. All application materials must be submitted before training.
