Two traffic stops led to arrests in Washington County Sunday night and early Monday morning.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says 37-year-old Matthew Scott Pemberton of Washington was arrested following a traffic stop near Highway 92 and Third Street in Ainsworth shortly before 9 Sunday night. Pemberton was charged with operating while intoxicated, second offense.
Then shortly before 4 Monday morning, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 1 near Kalona.
Dwayne Vadim Scott, 32, of Iowa City was arrested and charged with driving under suspension and no insurance. He was also cited for allegedly driving 79 miles per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone.
A charge is merely an accusation; a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
