A Washington man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on a warrant issued by the Iowa City Police Department.
Washington Police were contacted around 1:40 p.m. after adult probation officials reported that a wanted person was in their lobby.
Jimmie Lee Stringer, age 35, of Washington, was taken into custody on an application to revoke probation connected to a case involving a controlled-substance violation and possession of contraband in a correctional institution.
Stringer was being held on a $5,000 cash-only bond.
The allegations connected to the probation matter do not constitute a new conviction.
