Citizen comments: Comments must be directed to the subject under consideration. The presiding officer shall rule on the relevance of the citizen comments. Citizens making personal, impertinent, or slanderous remarks may be barred by the presiding officer from further comment before the Council during the meeting.
1. Call to order, 6:00 p.m..
2. Accept or amend the agenda.
3. Open forum: A time set aside to receive comments from the public regarding city business. The Mayor and City Council welcome comments from the public on any subject pertaining to City business, including items on this agenda. You are asked to state your name and address for the record and to limit your remarks to five minutes in order that others may be given the opportunity to speak. The Order of Business is at the discretion of the Chair. No action will be taken.
4. Jack Swarm, SE IA Regional Planning.
A. Presentation of updated electrical inspection contract with Regional Planning.
B. Approval of Resolution 2024-17, accepting Contract #24-656 with SE IA Regional Planning Commission, for electrical inspections for the City of Danville.
5. Discussion and action on Resolution 2024-16; depositing funds into the existing fire department capital savings account.
6. Proposed Ordinance Number 238, establishing a standard policy pertaining to driveways.
A. Second reading of proposed Ordinance Number 238.
B Action on this second reading of proposed Ordinance Number 238.
C. Discussion and action on possibly waiving the third and final reading of proposed Ordinance Number 238.
7. Fire Chief/building inspector report – action by council if needed.
8. Public Works report.
A. Review of proposed amendment to City Code Chapter 5.14. Action on this amendment.
B. Public Works written report. Action if needed.
9. Approval of consent agenda.
A. Council minutes of June 17, 2024 (full & summary minutes).
B. Payment of bills.
10. Council reports and correspondence.
11. Adjournment.
