Craig “Lou” Lewis

Craig “Lou” Lewis, 77, of Mount Pleasant died unexpectedly Monday, December 1, 2025, at his home in rural Mount Pleasant.

Lou was born January 22, 1948, in Carroll, Iowa, the son of Wilton and Geraldine (Kruger) Lewis. He attended Emmetsburg High School and then moved to Mount Pleasant with his family. Lou proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was a dog handler. He worked in construction and drove trucks for several companies. Lou enjoyed riding his Hondas (especially his Honda Rune Motorcycle), gardening and spending time with his German Shephard’s.

Lou is survived by his life partner Mary (Millard) Stoner of Mount Pleasant; stepmother Gertrude “Trudy” Lewis of Missouri; a brother Terry (Debra) Lewis of Grinnell; two sisters Diana Lewis of Waldorf, Maryland , Vickee Donoho of Mission Viejo, CA; stepbrother Joey (Dayna) Brandenburg of Palmyra, Missouri, stepsister Rhonda (Rick) Frandsen of Raytown, Missouri; brother- in-law Ray (Rita) Millard; sister-in-law Maureen (Dave) Edwards; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law Ted Donoho.

According to his wishes his body has been cremated and a family graveside service will be held at a later date in the Salem East Cemetery. The Olson-Yoder Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Lou and his family. Condolences to the family may be left at www.olsonyoderfh.com.
